Allergies

Stainless steel is considered nickel free therefore it should be safe to wear for people with nickel allergy. However, it may contain traces of nickel. If you deal with severe nickel allergies, please, contact me before purchasing any item to find an alternative and suitable material.

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc therefore it's naturally nickel free.

Stainless steel

Stainless steel is very strong and durable material which won't tarnish nor corode. Thanks to that stainless steel jewelry doesn't require any special care. However, cleaning your stainless steel jewelry will help it to keep it's shine and color.

If you want to clean your steel jewelry, wash it gently with an old toothbrush and soapy water. Rinse it well with running water and let it air dry.

Brass

Brass is one of my favorite materials to make jewelry because it's durable, easy to work with and very affordable.

Like other alloys brass will tarnish over time, the color will become darker and it'll eventually loose it's shine. If you're not a fan of an oxidized look in your jewelry give it some extra care to keep it looking as new.

How to care for your brass jewelry:

- avoid contact with water. Take off your jewelry before taking a shower or washing your hands/dishes/etc.

- after each use wipe down your jewelry with a soft cloth and store in Monstera jewelry bag

- for a deeper cleaning soak your jewelry in lukewarm water with and apple cider vinegar (aprox. 1 spoon of vinegar / 1 cup of water). Leave it in the solution for couple of minutes, then add mild dish or hand soap and give it a good scrub with a soft brush (hand brush or an old toothbrush). Rinse it well with running water. Tap dry with a cloth and let it air dry completely.

- don't store your jewelry in a bathroom or other humid places
